In line with the project activities and objectives, the University of Zawia has carried out several pilot training sessions and practical workshops since 2017. The aim of these sessions is to raise awareness on European programs amongst university staff and faculty members to increase their participation in projects, contributing to the internationalisation of the university. Here is a breakdown of the sessions conducted by the university of Zawia.

The First pilot training session was held on the 28th and 29th of November and on the 27th of December 2017. This session was dedicated to the heads of international cooperation offices and heads of research and consulting departments at the faculties of the University Of Zawia.

An objective of EuNIT is to involve universities outside of the project in training sessions and build their capacities in EU project management. Responding to this objective, the second pilot training session on the topic of Key Action 2 (KA2) of the Erasmus+ programme was carried out for close to 18 academic staff in the international cooperation office of the University Of Sabrata on the 5th of March 2018.

In the same year, a workshop was held on the 6th of December for the middle and high management levels of the university, as well as for academic staff. The main objective was to raise awareness of international and EU projects, several topics were covered such as Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 and the evolving of EU projects (new program period and budgets…) was also addressed. This session was a great success for close to 45 people attended.

From the 13th to the 21st of January 2019, a further training session on capacity building projects (KA2) was carried out for 11 academic staff and 3 administrative staff from the University of Zawia. All participants received a completion certificate from the International Cooperation Office of the university. The participants also presented their project ideas. Two of these ideas were developed and sent for review to the partner where trainees from Zawia had carried out part of their training last year.

The project idea was Application of Primary medical record database at different Libyan Medical Centers and Design and Implementation Project for Academic Medical Staff to Control Outbreak of Infectious Diseases in North Africa.
